When I say I'm a photographer, the inevitable question is, "so what kinds of things do you like to shoot?" This innocent question is a very difficult one for me because I am not devoted to a particular genre. I am a generalist. My best answer is to describe what I've most recently photographed, or, what I plan to photograph next.
Currently I'm featuring several portfolios. Playing With Fire is my most recent series, which I photographed most of the summer, finishing up a few weeks ago with some of the more abstract images. I am particularly fond of the "selfie" image. Martha's Vineyard, a study of an island in Massachusetts about which I've become quiet fond. Protest And Patriotism, which is the culmination of several years photographing two sides of the civil liberties debate that captures demonstrations of protest and exhibitions of patriotism that have in common their genesis as protected speech. Oakland Thru My Eyes, the beginning of a long term exploration of an interesting albeit controversial city. And Healdsburg Afternoon which includes some landscapes and other images resulting from a visit to the Dry Creek region of the Sonoma County town of Healdsburg. I am always working on new projects, so I will be adding new photographs, galleries and generally updating things.
