When I say I'm a photographer, the inevitable question is, "so what kinds of things do you like to photograph?" This innocent question is a very difficult one for me because I am not devoted to a particular genre. My best answer is to describe what I've most recently photographed, or, what I plan to photograph next.
Though I'm featuring several portfolios, Shadows In The Museum is my most recent series. Shadows In The Museum is an exploration inspired by the artwork of others in several museums I have visited recently. The prohibition against using "someone else's work" is a notion I played with in Shadows In The Museum. The abstract images were created by photographing shadows cast by a variety of sculptural works.
Hardware Drama is an exploration of what happens when mundane construction items become lead photographic characters. Small Things is my study of beauty in everyday items. Playing With Fire is a hot series featuring several "selfie" images. Pyromania as art. 15 Days is the result of a personal creative challenge: to create a new photograph each day for 15 days. Protest And Patriotism is the culmination of several years photographing two sides of the civil liberties debate that captures demonstrations of protest and exhibitions of patriotism that have in common their genesis as protected speech. Oakland Thru My Eyes, the beginning of a long term exploration of the interesting and inspiring city I call home.
